Journals
Our Institute issues three journals:
- Polonica, founded on the initiative of Stanisław Urbańczyk in 1975, and from its beginning associated with the IJP PAN, is a journal dedicated mainly to the grammar and semantics of contemporary Polish language, with an emphasis on works firmly embedded in theory. The first editor-in-chief was Stanisław Urbańczyk, and currently this fuction is carried out by Rafał Górski, with Iwona Krawczyk as managing editor.
- Socjolingwistyka, a journal created on the initiative of Władysław Lubaś, is dedicated to the issues from the cross-section of linguistics and other humanistic disciplines, first of all sociology, anthropology of culture, literary studies and political science. It is on the European list of ERIH humanities journals in the NAT category. The editor-in-chief is Katarzyna Skowronek, and Dorota Mika serves as the managing editor.
- Onomastica is a journal dedicated to the theory and interpretation of proper names. It was founded in 1955, and is issued jointly with the Linguistics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The first editorial committee was composed of: Witold Taszycki (editor-in-chief), Stanisław Rospond (secretary) and others, in later years the functions of the editor-in-chief were performed by Kazimierz Rymut and Aleksandra Cieślikowa. Currently, the editor-in-chief of the magazine is Barbara Czopek-Kopciuch, and the managing editor is Paweł Swoboda.
